I hit two of my three Week 3 touchdown plays, which included a +500 Brenton Strange score and the gift of the season so far in a Lamar Jackson TD at +200. That moves me to +3.6 units through three weeks with a 4-5 SU mark.
This week I’ll be fading the Washington secondary in a game that has shootout potential, jumping on the hot hand (and hopefully a change in usage) in Chicago, and taking a great price on a back that might have an even bigger role if his quarterback can’t suit up.

Auburn center Johni Broome is returning to the team for his final season of eligibility in 2024-25. The 6-foot-10 senior announced his decision with a video posted to social media on Wednesday. Broome averaged 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.2 blocks in 35 games (34 starts) in 2023-24. He was named MVP of the 2024 Southeastern Conference tournament after averaging 15.7 points in wins against South Carolina, Mississippi State and Florida. The fourth-seeded Tigers fell to No. 13 Yale in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament despite 24 points and 13 rebounds from Broome. Broome made the All-SEC second team in his first season at Auburn in 2022-23 after transferring from Morehead State, where he was the Ohio Valley Conference's Defensive Player of the Year in 2021-22…
After 37 years of marriage, Véronique Der Zakarian and her husband Michel do not always agree. “If you want it to last, concessions must be made on both sides,” said Montpellier coach Michel in a joint interview with his wife in L’Équipe last month. Having followed her husband’s managerial career from Nantes to Clermont, back to Nantes, to Reims and now to Montpellier, Véronique scoffed – much as fans of those clubs might. Der Zakarian’s effective but defensive sides have often made obvious sacrifices in the way they play. Now though, with Montpellier, Der Zakarian is finally following his own advice to glorious effect.

Ousmane Dembélé has signed a new two-year contract with Barcelona, the club announced on Thursday, ending speculation that he would leave this summer. The 25-year-old put pen to paper on a deal after his previous contract expired at the end of June.
Dembélé has made 143 appearances for the club since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2017, winning five major honours including two La Liga titles. However, his time at the Camp Nou has been plagued by injury problems that have not always allowed the winger to live up to his potential.
The France international scored twice and made 13 assists in 32 appearances last season, as Barcelona recorded their lowest La Liga points tally since 2008. His contract saga led to h…

Jude Bellingham (England, Real Madrid, midfielder, 20) They were ridiculed at the time but Birmingham’s decision to retire Bellingham’s shirt looks perfectly logical in hindsight. What feels illogical is that the England midfielder is still only 20. How is it possible that he has had three good seasons at Borussia Dortmund already, and has now become an instant hero at Real Madrid? The w…
Kyle Larson won a second overtime shootout under caution in Sunday's 28th Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series' return to the legendary oval in Speedway, Ind. As the first Cup race on the IMS oval since July 5, 2020, neared its finish, sixth-place Kyle Busch wrecked with three laps left to create the shootout scenario with leader Brad Keselowski. However, Keselowski pulled off before the green flag due to a lack of fuel, and a big melee soon occurred just outside the top 10. In the second two-lap shootout after a red-flag period, leader Larson pulled his No. 5 away from Ryan Blaney, who slowed dramatically. Larson beat polesitter Tyler Reddick before the 10th caution came out for Ryan Preece's spin to freeze the field and end the race. L…
This season’s been historically injury-plagued, and it might only get worse as the NBA returns to normal this fall. Normal means the following: Not starting a season in mid-December one month before many expected and not rushing into a brand new calendar immediately following a championship where your conference titlists entered a new season seven weeks after competing in the Finals. After resuming the 2019-20 season amid the coronavirus pandemic last July, after the NBA Finals ended in mid-October after teams began training camp on December 1 for the 2020-21 season, and after the season started on December 22, the league is going back to its standard September through June calendar for the 2021-22 campaign. This past season has been historically disastrous as it relates to the hea…
Julie Donaldson, locker room/sideline reporter for SNY, the Mets station — she is one of the women the station allows to have a brain and a skull — takes part in turning an otherwise perfectly normal division championship celebration into something vaguely different. By the way, there's no way she was "surprised" by the champagne dousing. You can tell she knows it's coming and is just waiting for the camera light to come on. So spontaneous! Wigan Athletic courted controversy this week by hiring Malky Mackay, who is under investigation by the FA for assorted bigoted and offensive text messages that were sent more than a year ago but came to light over the summer. Wigan owner Dave Whelan spoke with the Guardian today, and offered a defense of, essentially, "Mackay was spot-on." I don't think anyone expected that! Let's take each in turn. Mackay, who was Cardiff City manager at the time he sent the texts, referred to agent Phil Smith with this: "Nothing like a Jew that sees money slipping through his fingers." So here's Whelan, today, basically going full Easterbrook: Asked whether he did not think what Mackay said was offensive, because the claim that Jews "love money" has be…
